Susquehanna Health To Open Physical Therapy Center In Eastern Lycoming YMCA

Susquehanna Health (SH) plans to open Susquehanna Health Sports & Physical Therapy, an Outpatient Physical Therapy Center located within the Eastern Lycoming YMCA (ELYMCA), Muncy. Five state-licensed SH Physical Therapy staff members will help people of all ages achieve improved health and productivity by providing hands-on therapies complemented with the latest rehabilitation and strength-building equipment. The 5,000 square foot facility will house state-of-the-art physical therapy equipment and will have its own convenient outside entrance, plus an additional entrance from within the ELYMCA. Patients will also have access to aquatic therapy in the ELYMCA pool. The facility, within the Generations Sports Complex, is under construction and is expected to be completed by early summer.

“Susquehanna Health is excited about working with the ELYMCA to provide comprehensive physical therapy services to this rapidly growing segment of Lycoming County. The River Valley Regional YMCA (RVRYMCA) and Susquehanna Health share similar visions for improving the health status and overall well being of residents in the region,” says Steven P. Johnson, SH president/CEO. Adds Dave Fagerstrom, RVRYMCA president, “We are pleased to collaborate with Susquehanna Health to offer physical therapy services in the ELYMCA, enabling our members to receive all health and wellness needs in one convenient location.” Says Pamela Gass, administrative director, Susquehanna Health Orthopedic, Spine & Sports, “The addition of Susquehanna Health Sports & Physical Therapy in the ELYMCA provides expanded access to our patients throughout the region and brings SH’s total physical therapy locations to five: Gibson Outpatient Rehabilitation at The Williamsport Hospital & Medical Center, Divine Physical Therapy at Divine Providence Hospital, Costello Center Physical Therapy in the Wenner Building at Divine Providence Hospital and Gibson Outpatient Rehabilitation at Muncy Valley Hospital.” She adds, “SH’s physical therapy staff will work closely with ELYMCA staff to be sure patients are progressing properly in their post-rehabilitation fitness program. This follow up is a significant benefit for our patients because they are less likely to re-injure themselves when they receive post-rehabilitation guidance.”
