The Plan | The Funding | Make A Donation



Susquehanna Health is in the midst of a $250 million Master Facilities Plan (Project 2012) — the largest expansion in Susquehanna Health's history. Led by members of our Board of Trustees and community members, we have embarked on a capital campaign called Count On Us For Life to help fund the project with a goal of $12.5 million.


The Plan

Project 2012 was designed to help us overcome challenges related to aging facilities and to accommodate the latest technology. With the expansion and renovation of our building structures we will incorporate the latest in digital technology to allow us to maximize medical abilities and efficiencies, improve physician and nursing staff recruitment and retention, and enhance the patient and family experience. These improvements will all be completed while promoting a "green environment" with Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) standards. Highlights by hospital campus of the project include:

Divine Providence Hospital

  • Susquehanna Cancer Center Renovation and Expansion.
  • Main Entrance/Canopy Renovation.
  • Sisters of Christian Charity Convent Replacement.
  • Open an Inpatient Hospice Unit in the main hospital building — opened in 2006!
  • Relocate the Community Health Center and Dental Center to Hepburn Plaza and make parking lot/façade improvements — completed in 2007!

Muncy Valley Hospital

  • Construction of Skilled Nursing Unit Family Gathering Room.
  • Conversion of Semi-Private Inpatient Rooms to Single Occupancy Rooms.
  • Expansion and relocation of the Physical Therapy area — opened in 2006!

The Williamsport Hospital & Medical Center

  • New Patient Service Areas including:
    • Single Occupancy Rooms.
    • Larger, More Efficient Emergency Room.
    • Heart, Vascular and Lung Services.
    • Critical Care Services.
  • New and Expanded Parking Areas.
  • New Patient Entrance at High Street and Walnut Street.
  • Construction of Day Care Center — opened August 2008!

The Funding

Project 2012 is being funded by the following:

  • Philanthropy — $12.5 million
  • BlueCross of NorthEastern Pennsylvania — $30 million
  • Department of Community and Economic Development Grant — $12.5 million
  • New Bond Funds — $125 million
  • Susquehanna Health Capital — $60 million
  • Grants — $10 million

  • Total — $250 million
