What the Campaign Means to You
Single Occupancy Patient Room | Emergency Department Expansion | Heart & Vascular Institute Renovation | Susquehanna Cancer Center Expansion
Our community deserves the best in healthcare.
That’s why we are investing over $250 million in upgrades and enhancements to all three campuses: Williamsport Regional Medical Center, Divine Providence Hospital and Muncy Valley Hospital.
Funding from the Count On Us For Life Capital Campaign will lead to the most patient-focused and family-centered facility in North Central Pennsylvania, including the creation of 282 new jobs.
Single Occupancy Patient Rooms
Williamsport and Muncy Valley Hospitals
Currently, 80 percent of our inpatient beds are semi-private. This project will replace semi-private rooms with single occupancy rooms. These rooms will:
- Provide greater patient comfort and privacy.
- Curtail the spread of airborne infectious diseases.
- Create a better environment for teaching and rehabilitation.
Emergency Department Expansion
Williamsport Regional Medical Center
Currently, the Emergency department receives more than 53,000 visits per year. By year 2012, visits are estimated to increase to 70,000. The present facility was designed to accommodate only 35,000 visits per year. The new department will:
- Offer patients more privacy.
- Decrease wait times for our patients.
- Double the existing square footage to create private
treatment spaces.
- Increase the total number of treatment rooms from 29 to 52,
with more specialty rooms.
- Allow us to treat more non-emergency cases more quickly.
Heart & Vascular Institute Renovation
Williamsport Regional Medical Center
Our Heart & Vascular Institute offers a complete range of clinical services through a dedicated team of cardiologists and surgeons. This renovation will help to ensure successful outcomes for our heart patients. It will:
- Expand our clinical services through improved and increased technology, including new Heart Catheterization Labs, an Electrophysiology Lab, a state-of-the-art Cardiovascular Suite and Interventional Radiology Labs.
- Relocate and expand the current Cardiovascular Surgical Unit, Intensive Care Unit and Step-Down/Monitor Unit.
- Create patient-centered, family-focused rooms that are private and include a family area, natural lighting and expanded patient care area.
Susquehanna Health Cancer Center Expansion
Divine Providence Hospital
The Susquehanna Health Cancer Center is the most advanced comprehensive cancer center in the region. Our expansion will enable expanded patient care and research opportunities for our physicians. The expansion will:
- Enhance the patient experience and promote healing through a calming environment that uses elements of nature and the local area.
- Offer state-of-the-art services and equipment, including the most advanced technology in Radiation Therapy.
- Feature an enhanced Chemotherapy/Infusion Room.
- Include Cancer Center Chemotherapy Pharmacy, Patient and Family Resource Library and 50-seat conference center.
