We are honored that you are considering family medicine training with the Williamsport Family Medicine Residency Program. Administered by Susquehanna Health, a three-hospital integrated health system, we serve patients from an 11-county region in north central Pennsylvania.
Susquehanna Health is a leader in the healthcare industry and recognized on national and state levels for excellent quality of care with awards including the 2011 Thomson Reuters 50 Top Heart Hospitals in the nation, the Blue Cross of Northeastern Pennsylvania’s Blue Distinction designation for cardiac care, spine surgery and knee and hip replacement and the Data Advantage Top 100 Hospitals in the Nation for Healthcare Value. These recognitions speak to the outstanding caliber of our healthcare professionals.
In 2006, Susquehanna Health launched Project 2012, a major initiative to redevelop and update our three campus facilities in order to serve our patients and their families better with the quality of care they have come to expect from us. This redevelopment project is consistent with the Susquehanna Health mission, vision and values incorporating the latest in digital technology to maximize medical services and efficiencies in a patient-centered environment conducive to health and healing.
The Family Medicine Residency Program is an integral part of our overall services and evidence of our commitment to the education of future healthcare professionals. Our faculty is comprised of 150 clinicians who share their experience and medical expertise with our residents while grounding them in the essentials of high-quality, compassionate care. Since its establishment in 1974, more than 240 physicians have graduated from our residency program. We hope you will take the time to examine all that Susquehanna Health and the Williamsport Regional Medical Center Family Medicine Residency Program have to offer. Best wishes to you as you pursue your medical training.
