Once we've established the cause of your pain, we begin a conservative treatment plan, which may include:

  •  Renewed attention on a healthy diet
  • Exercise, and if appropriate, weight reduction
  • Medications
  •  Physical therapy
  • Interventional pain management technique

A focus on interventional pain management treatments has grown exponentially during the last five to 10 years. They may be diagnostic or theraputic depending on how clear the pain source is. Interventional pain management may include:

  • Injection Therapies
  • Implantable Devices
    • Spinal Cord Stimulation
    • Intrathecal Drug Delivery Systems
  • Nerve Blocks
  • Medication Management (not including narcotics)
  • Physical Therapy
  • Psychotherapy
  • Seizure Monitoring
  • Same-Day Surgery Procedures
    • Radio Frequency Ablations
    • Myeloscopies
    • Lidocaine/ Ketamine Infusions
  • Weight Loss, Exercise, & Smoking Cessation

Depending on your response to these various treatments, you may also receive advanced pain management procedures such as endoscopes, spinal cord stimulators, or neuroxation drug pumps. All treatment plans will be discussed with you before you receive them. If necessary, we may also refer you to other specialists who care for people with your specific illness or injury.  The Pain Management Program supports a partnership approach to the medical experience, our medical director serving as consultant, while the primary care physician remains the main doctor.  Once your treatments are completed, you'll receive an evaluation report that includes a comprehensive evaluation report, progress reports, and a discharge summary with any further treatment recommendations.
