A technician will be in the monitoring room (located down the hall from your bedroom) throughout the night. If you need anything during the night, all you need to do is speak and the technician hears you through the intercom.
All patients are expected to stay in bed about seven to eight hours. If you need to awaken before 7 am, please let the technician know the night before so you can go to bed before 11 pm.
The next morning, a technician removes the electrodes and other recording devices.
6pm, 7pm or 8 pm
You will be scheduled to begin your sleep study at one of these three times. You will know beforehand which time is assigned to you (please note: we do make special arrangements if you are a shift worker). Please eat dinner before reporting to the Center. Once you report to the Center, you will change into your nightclothes. A technician then places electrodes on you. During this time, you may ask the technician questions about the test.
7pm to 10 pm
This is your time to relax and get used to the surroundings. You may watch TV or read if you would like.
10pm to 11 pm
Bedtime Guests go to bed in the order in which they are scheduled, e.g. the 6 pm guest goes first.
